I am not being lazy, I really tried to look up to see if anyone else wrote about this, but could find anything.

I know there is some latency from the CGO3 video feed to the ST10, but it seem longer than what I expected.

When I move the camera up or down, I can see the camera move almost immediately when I move the wheel on the ST10. However, on the Screen of the controller it takes a few seconds for the screen to update the view of the camera. Also the image on the ST10 skips, freezes momentarily and images overlap as it tries to update as the camera moves or the drones moves. In other words, even with a latency I would expect a smother video feed on the screen. I suspect is the wifi connection being sporadic. Any thought on how I can improve on this.

    Thanks

If you are doing full 4K video and depending on how much interference is in the area it will increase the lag time. A few seconds does seem to be extreme. Are you flying in a urban area with lots of WiFi?
Not sure if the speed of your card can have something to do with it but I would check out a faster card also. Video speed and write speed?? Not sure about that one.

Since I just got Q500 I haven't had the chance to take it somewhere more isolated. Yes I live in an urban area with lots of WiFi's. My first flight was on a neighborhood park in a baseball diamond. I flew it only 15 feet off the ground to test the video feed. I figured WiFi and power lines nearby might cause a problem, so I guess the real test is to take it where I would normally fly anyway (legally and safely).

I am using the SD card that the unit came with. However, I am not seeing any problems so far on any video recordings. I am just concern about video feed to the ST10+ display.

The WiFi from the camera is really not the best. Lots of things can get in the way. Before trying to solve your problem try it out in a open area away from heavy WiFi. Sometimes just moving 500 feet can solve your problem. There should be no more then a second of lag at most. When in your home turn it on and run your hand across the front of the camera and time it. If it looks faster I would say its interference you are experiencing.

Thanks Jager, will do. I just tried again on my kitchen table and the delay is about a second. Then I wait a bit longer and then the delay is longer with the image freezes as if trying to catch up. However, I have WiFi on my house, plus the neighbors. But will take it outside to an open space and see how it performs.

Update: And Sorry for the long comment

I took my Q500 to another location away from urban areas. However there were some local power lines near by. In spite of this, the Q500 operated as expected. There was some video delay but not as much as I experienced before. The ST10 flight controls responded quickly so I felt comfortable handling the craft, but the video delay is rather annoying since I found myself chasing the needle, sort of speak, as I try to frame a shot. I guess it will take some practice.

One snafu during this outing was with the sd card. After shooting about 5 videos in high res mode, each about 3 min long, the camera stopped taking videos or stills. I just got an error on the ST10 display saying, Failed to start video or capture a picture. The card is 16G so I knew I still had space on the card. I restarted the Q500 but the problem persisted. At this point I packed up and left.

At home, I inserted the sd card on my computer and was able to download the videos I took. However, looking the card general info, it said the card was full. The videos I took accounted just over 6G, and there was nothing else on the card. I empty the card but the info on the card still said full. At this point I went back to the Q500, but I was still getting the same failure error as before. So I just reformatted the card and now it works fine. Wondering if anyone else experience the same thing.

I purchased a SanDisk Extreme PLUS 32GB microSDXC UHS-I/U3 Card with Adapter (SDSQXSG-032G-GN6MA). According to my online research it has a fast write speed. With the card I got from Yuneec, I noticed some skipping on my videos, very slight but still noticeable. I am using a iMac and I know my hardware is up to the task, so I am blaming the write speed of card. I'll try the new card see how it goes.

  7. I noticed the delay/lag from the first time flying my Q5004k, It does not affect my video footage so It does not bother me the least. Its a very short lag. Its something I think most Q fliers gets used to.

You may also experience a jumpy picture on the st10 if shooting higher than 60 fps.
