Was wondering if its possible to boost the stock antenna instead of spensing the extra 100 on a antenna. I only want to go like 0.8 of a mile
    Thanks!

Should be able to hit 1000 feet with the stock radio no problem already.

You don't need a itelite antenna but you do need to take your ST10+ apart and replace the internal connectors so you can have external connections for any cheap 2.4 and 5.8 Omni antenna. If you want to run sunhan boosters that can be done also but you still need to run leads to the outside of the ST10+. You can follow this tutorial for replacing the leads just leave out the itelite antenna.

There are plenty of cheaper solutions for antennas but make sure they are LHCP.

Lots of options. Do your homework. China is full of cheaper stuff if you know what you need.

Here is one I did about 4 years ago.

No I believe you are thinking of smart mode. There is no Geo fence in Angle mode except for the height. You still cannot go over 1000 meters.
Going 1.2 - 1.5 miles is very easy to do even some have gone that far with stock antennas which I never was able to do. Farthest I ever got stock was about 1 mile and it lost connection and started the RTH.

Scott did this tutorial way back when for the horizon antenna mod. Horizon is not around any more but the video shows you how to take the ST10 apart and add the cables to the outside of the TX.
Watch it on the youtube site and in the description I think he gives links for parts.
